ToggleHPL Sheet – Size & Thickness
One Sheet: Multiple Applications
Gaining popularity in commercial and residential properties both!
HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) is a versatile material that is widely used in both exterior and interior applications because of its strength, aesthetic appeal, and resistance to a variety of environmental factors. As a result, it is quickly becoming the best option for both commercial and residential properties. Many residential and business buildings are moving to HPL and are happy about it.
Due to the multiple properties of HPL sheets like weather resistance, durability, and aesthetic appeal, more and more designers, contractors, and architects are choosing it and advising it to their clients.
Various application areas of HPL sheets:
One product – Multiple placements
Before going further, let us first understand the various application areas of HPL sheets:
Exterior Claddings and Facades: HPL sheets are frequently used for building facades and cladding. They offer an ornamental and protective outer coating that improves the structure’s aesthetic appeal and shields it from the elements.
Balconies and Railings: Railing infill panels and balcony panels with a fashionable and long-lasting appearance can be made with HPL sheets. They can be tailored to fit the building’s architectural style and give design freedom.
Public and Recreational Facilities: HPL sheets are commonly used in public spaces like parks, playgrounds, and sports facilities. Applications include benches, play equipment panels, and protective barriers.
Public Transportation Stations: HPL is also used in the construction of bus shelters, train stations, and other public transportation facilities, providing a robust and easy-to-maintain surface.

Sizes in HPL Sheets:
Different purpose – different sizes
HPL sheet comes in varied sizes depending on its application and purpose. Apart from above mentioned applications, HPL can also be used in kitchen cabinets, flooring, panels, countertops, interior walls and other applications as well.
HPL sheets are typically available in the following standard sizes:
- 4 x 8 feet (1220 x 2440 mm)
- 4 x 10 feet (1220 x 3050 mm)
- 5 x 10 feet (1525 x 3050 mm)
In HPL Maker, we also offer custom sizes or additional standard sizes to meet specific project requirements of our customers.
Thickness in HPL Sheets:
Different purpose – different thickness
The thickness of HPL sheets can vary significantly based on its intended use and structural requirements. Common thicknesses include:
0.6 mm to 1 mm: Typically used for decorative surfacing applications, such as furniture and cabinetry overlays.
1 mm to 2 mm: Often used for more robust decorative applications, including wall panels and interior cladding.
2 mm to 3 mm: Suitable for countertops, tables, and other surfaces requiring additional durability.
3 mm and above: Used in applications requiring structural strength, such as partitions, flooring, and heavy-duty countertops.
For exterior applications like facade cladding, thicker HPL sheets (usually 4 mm or more) with additional treatments for UV and weather resistance are often used.
Customizations are always a choice!
Choose your pick!
HPL Maker is 15 years old manufacturing firm and we offer customizable services to our customers. Our HPL sheets can be tailored to unique design, visions and performance requirements by changing their dimensions, colors, textures, and finishes in addition to typical sizes. For architectural features that demand seamless surfaces, custom sizing may entail producing bigger sheets or cutting panels to the appropriate dimensions.
“HPL sheets are available in multiple sizes and thickness as per their usage and applications but we usually recommend 2 sizes for outer applications- 4 x 8 feet (1220 x 2440 mm) and 4 x 10 feet (1220 x 3050 mm), and 6 mm thickness.”
